This is the greatest accident that anyone could really ask for.

Yes, you read that right .

Yes, I got into this by accident in 7th grade at Kimbrough Middle school doing the Music Man Jr. when the Choir director and Theatre Director singled me out and was like, “HE IS THE ONE!”. I agreed to follow the woman with the look of wonder and slight insanity in her eyes, and here I am now. I stuck with it doing the big musical from then ‘til graduation, only taking a theater class my senior year (Football, Varsity Choir, Show Choir and AP Classes stopped me from taking the class).

After graduating from Poteet High School, Getting a few scholarships (one from Dallas Summer Musicals), I ended up going to Abilene Christian University as a Musical Theatre Major. Through my years there, I learned more and more about what I truly wanted my art to do. From bouts of depression, fighting racism, COVID affecting my Junior and Senior years, It really gave the wake up call of how quickly life can be flipped on its head and that I couldn’t just be all vibes. I had a moral obligation to be an advocate for my people in the arts, especially those who wear natural hair and how they need to have more representation in this field.

After I graduated, I did the big move to NYC to go study more at The Atlantic Acting School, because why not. I wanted more training, I wanted to be in the city, I wanted some in with the industry so might as well. Going through such rigorous training had made me come face to face with my insecurities as an artist and deal with them head on. Clearly, the training has worked because since coming to the school I’ve played Hud in HAIR, Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and various roles in one act festivals and original musical readings!

Outside of theater, I love music and history as pastimes. You will easily catch me watching a documentary about anything I could learn about because if we don’t learn from our past, we’re surely doomed to repeat it. As a musician, I’m always looking for a new artist or band to listen to. Please spread the love of what your vibe is. Honestly. I will be blasting Mozart, Frank Ocean, Alice In Chains, Simon and Garfunkel, Marvin Gaye, Peter Tosh, Tenacious D, Prince, Metallica, The Lemon Twigs, etc. Yes, you will catch me scatting to myself to Cab Calloway on the subway or walking and lip syncing to Spillage Village.

You’ll probably find me communing with the earth in Central Park playing an acoustic guitar or just walking in the woods parts of the park to get away from it all. You can take the boy out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out the boy. Especially if that boy is an Eagle Scout who fell in love with conservation of the planet and how beautiful the earth really is. If I could bring any of that beauty of life and the earth into my artistry, then I know I am doing what I was meant to do with this lifetime.
